"Pillowcases for Young Patients"
Pillowcases for young patients is the current Community Outreach Project of the Brandywine Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America. Twenty members have donated material, cut, stitched, washed and ironed, then bagged colorful, happy, printed pillowcases for the children in the Bone Marrow/ Oncology Unit of the Alfred I Du Pont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware.
These terribly sick children may select and keep a friendly, cheery pillowcase of their own to help them through their illness. The flowers, stripes and patterns brighten their day and help them to know someone cares. At last count, one hundred pillow cases have been made.
